This is for Val. We will miss you.

I received the sms last night at 1:18am.

"Val Yang passed away peacefully on 28th December 2006, Thursday, 12:28am. May the lord be with her forever. Amen."

Those were the exact words from my cousin. The cousin that loves Val more than anyone of us.

Before I start, just let me inform that Val is a dog. A dog whom the families have grown very attached to. Val, to me, is a very special dog. My mum and auntie are especially afraid of dogs. When Val first joined our families, she was not allowed to come out of her cage when my mum and auntie were in the house. They were so afraid that the dog approached them. Yes, the dog is only trying to make friends but to them is 'NOPE, DON'T COME NEAR!'.

After a few months, Val managed to win them over. She will not walk near to my mum and auntie when they were around. She will not go and disturb them. There will be times when Val will 'manja' a bit by just lying down quietly near my mum.

I will always remember how she welcomed us at the door... wag her 'pig tail' when she saw us coming. I remember how she will come near me, waiting for me to 'sayang' her. After a few strokes, she will lie down on the floor for me to 'sayang' her all over. The last time I 'sayang' her was on X'mas eve. There will be no next time for her...

We love you, Val... You have grown to be part of the families and we are going to miss you...
