Wedding... Not Mine :P

I know it has been some time since I update my blog... Okay, I admit. It is not some time, it is a long time. I am sorry...
I have been slightly busy recently. I am agressively looking for a job and also my cousin, D, wedding is coming up in a week's time. I happen to be e appointed unpaid wedding planner. Do not misunderstand me, I am not complaining. In fact, I feel very honoured that my cousin trusts me so much to entrust me with the task. I had actually been a unpaid wedding planner for another cousin, E, about 4 years ago and they were satisfied with the results so here I am again... ta da... the unpaid wedding planner who feels honoured being asked.
I came from a family where we cousins are very closed (my mum's side). We literally grow up seeing each other every week. We have a traditional weekly family gathering where we rotate between the 3 families (S, T and Y families). All cousins will try our best to meet up at the designated family home for the week. We will just talk, play mj and have dinner. It is basically a gathering for us to keep each other updated of what's happening in our lives.
Anyway, that aside for now. I will write more about our gatherings next time. : )
Back to D's wedding next sunday...
It is really not easy having a customary wedding. There are so many things to prepare. Waking up very early in the morning. Going to his family and her family. Going through all the customary and traditional procedures. All these will take up almost 3/4 of the day. Then there will be the dinner. Making it a memorable and enjoyable yet not so stressful day for the bride and groom is to me the utmost important.
We, cousins, had been meeting up for a few times to discuss all the details and prepare what are needed. It is not easy as all of us still have to work but there were no complains from anyone of us. We did it unconditionally for E. We are doing it unconditionally for D and are going to do it unconditionally for any of our cousins' weddings in the future.
It might be tiring for us but we enjoyed the process of it. I personally feel that all these 'big' events had made our relationships even stronger.
I love my family and my extended families, especially my cousins. Muackz...
p.s. I will try to update more of the wedding soon. Maybe, just maybe, I will post pictures of the wedding. : )
