My Buddies (Part 2) - Xiaobai
Dear Xiaobai,
You are one of my favourite buddies. (not that I do not like the others, of course) I call you Xiaobai (小白)and you call me Xiaohei (小黑). I still remember how we came about these 'endearments' (heehee...) for both of us. I remembered I was very into Crayon Shinchan's cartoon and I love his pet dog in the cartoon which is called Xiaobai. You started calling me Xiaobai but I was always in black so I told you that I should be called Xiaohei instead. From then on, you are Xiaobai to me and I am Xiaohei to you...
I knew you from my second job in SXX company. I remembered that we joined at about the same time in 1997. We were in the different departments then. We were not so close initially. It was just a 'hi-bye' colleague thingey. Then we moved offices and both our departments are seated closely together, plus my department was supposed to support yours so we got more chance to talk to each other.
I personally feel that our friendship grew even stronger when we left the company. We make an effort to meet up and do things together. Our favourite pastimes are to watch movies, eat, eat, eat some more, gossiping over coffee, driving all the way to Jalan Kayu for pratas and teh tareks and driving around Singapore. When we meet, we will just chat non-stop till early hours of the day.
You are a very nice girl. You are pretty, gentle, attractive, ... There are a lot more nice things I can say about you but that will take up a lot of spaces. :P You are simply a very lovable girl. (Tell you a secret, you are such a nice person that my sister idolizes you.) You are always there for me when I needed to talk to someone or have a shoulder to cry on. You knew it when I am feeling down and I always felt better after talking to you.
I have not seen you for about 4 months cos you are in Germany now. We will still chat online to tell each other how we are getting on with our lives and we will meet up as often as possible to catch up for the lost time when you came back a couple of times every year.
Without you around, my life is not as colourful and exciting as before. I can't wait for you to be back the next time round so that we can do the things that we love to do together. We might not talk to each other as often as we would have loved to but I know deep down in my heart that you will always be my dear friend. Please take care of yourself in Germany, k?
